We occasionally receive reports from the police about local incidents and security advice. We will post them here as we receive them.

Report from PCSO Storm Perrott
I want to thank members of the public for remaining vigilant and for reporting in any suspicious activity, it’s really helpful to us and enables us to build a picture of everything that is going on.
I would also like to bring to your attention that we are now entering the season for both theft from vehicles, particularly when parked in beauty spot car parks, and for rogue traders. I have attached two documents with crime prevention advice for both of these crimes.
I am happy to carry out home visits for anyone that has any concerns or issues they wish to discuss or for anyone that would like to discuss home security or anything of that nature so please feel free to pass out my email address if you are happy to do so.
Reports made to the police for East Dean from May 2016- May 2017:
- 1 dwelling burglary
- 1 non dwelling burglary incidents
- 1 theft of vehicle.
Overall the number of reports from East Dean are very low.
I would like to encourage all residents to report via 101 any suspicious incidents they see whether it is a person hanging around, someone looking into properties or vehicles hanging around. We want to know about all of these incidents as it helps us to build a picture of what is going on and who is around. In other areas of Romsey North calling in suspicious incidents has prevented burglaries taking place as well as other incidents.
